Super Boomers (Miami Edition)

| Background: | What a beautiful day. July 1. My favorite month of the year, which is probably the same for many others. If you live south of the Mason Dixon, probably not so much. Coincidentally, today's logo is for a Super Boomers, which happens to be focused in Miami. That sounds hot. Like Paris Hilton hot. Logo time. |

Did you know that the cast of Jersey Shore is in Miami this season? Not that I watch it (much), but I just happened to hear about it. Ok, yes, I’ve watched it, ok. Sorry. Anyway, isn’t it weird that it’s still called Jersey Shore? Didn’t they sort of pigeon hole themselves with the name? Maybe it should have been called, East Coast. I dunno, just a random thought.
Now, on to more important subjects — like Miami. And, who better to introduce us to the city that never sleeps than Mr. Will Smith. Take it Willy …
Party in the city where the heat is on
All night on the beach till the break of dawn
Welcome to Miami and Bienvenido a Miami
Bouncin’ in the club where the heat is on
All night on the beach till the break of dawn
I’m going to Miami, welcome to Miami
… alright, that’s enough Smitty. You’ve done your part, welcoming us to the wonderful world of Miami, I’ll take it from here.
Did you know that Miami is home to 324,720 baby boomers with Facebook accounts? I’m not sure why you would know that, but had to ask, in that just by chance you knew. Maybe you’re one of them. If so, that means that you’re between the age of 46 to 64 years old and live in South Florida. Kind of sounds like a cliche, doesn’t it?
If you are in fact one of them, you’ll be happy to know that you’re eligible to become part of the Super Boomers, Miami edition. Well, I added the Miami edition part, but it is focused in Miami — at least for now.
Super Boomers is a group that Fabio Correa (you remember him) is putting together as a way to build a community of people of similar demographics with the intent of sharing, exchanging and getting to know each other. Activities will include events (wine tasting, cruises and the occasional burp competition), discussions, health advice, etc.
For the record, the burp competition isn’t officially sanctioned by Fabio, I added that one in for consideration.
Although we’re not from Miami, nor are we baby boomers, that didn’t stop us from rocking out for Fabio. We were able to put ourselves in South Beach (mentally-speaking) and age ourselves by just a couple of years. Bingo, that’s all it took for the pieces to fall into place.
I encourage you all (baby boomer or not) to go visit Super Boomers on Facebook. Here you’ll find more info and the next Super Boomer destination.
P.S. We’d like your thoughts today on the two logos below. Knowing what you know, which do you prefer (left or right)?

I like the lightening bolt – connotation of #2 is a little too “SuperBoob-ers” (ok maybe we’re over conditioned, but boob-centricity IS a fact of life on the internet). #1 emphasizes the “Boom” better, imo.
